The Paper Nautilus or Argonaut is the surface dwelling cephalopod mollusk. A close relative of the octopus it has a rounded body, eight tentacles and no fins. The female creates the beautiful papery shell to surround her while she broods her eggs. The empty shell was photographed on the beach at Portsea near Point Nepean Australia
